It is bend upwards by 15 mm, which relaxes the upper body and shoulders of the rider. A flare, i.e. an angle of the lower link of 12°, provides more control and stability. In addition, the handlebars overall have a more compact design with a short reach and flatter drop to prevent cramping.

Starting with the construction, they're made from Specialized Premium Butted Aluminum for a nice overall weight and high rigidity. And for comfort, much of it boils down to fit. Along these lines, they feature a shallow drop & bend that's extremely comfortable, while they also have a 15mm rise to help accommodate a wide fit range. For added stability we've added 12 degrees of flare at the drop to give that wide stance.
